Phaser Backers Pack - February 2020
Hello, world!
I'm pleased to announce that the February Phaser Backers Pack is now available to download. Please use the following Dropbox Transfer link and password:

Password: nmH4E7aE8Bfq
As with every pack, this zip file includes all previous months' worth of content, too. Check out the README for details on how to get a local server running.
This month there are a few different types of examples included. First, is demonstrating how to use Matter physics to make a logo 'bounce' into the screen, by projecting matters y axis into the scale of a sprite.
Next up are a series of carousel demos. Someone asked me how to do this on Discord and I figured it would make a good set of examples, so I started with the most basic and then added depth scaling, reflections and finally, the RPG Card demo shows how to smartly (and cheaply!) blur the cards as they rotated into the background, all without shaders. There are also some examples showing how to use ellipse stack projection.
Finally, there's a new game :) Fast Type is a simple challenge - how many of the 6-letter words can you type in 30 seconds? It puts your touch-typing skills to the test, for sure! It's based on Fast Typer 1 by Eidosk, but I figured it would make a really nice example game for a backers pack, as it demonstrates various techniques we've not covered before, including a typewriter effect and key polling. Post a comment to let me know what your top-score is! (mine is 22)
Newgrounds Phaser Game Jam
The Newgrounds Phaser Game Jam is coming to an end on February 18th. However, there is still time to enter! If you've made a game using Phaser (v2 or v3) that isn't already on Newgrounds, then just upload it and tag it, in order to enter the contest. That's all you have to do :)
Phaser Support Sessions
Also, I just wanted to remind you all that don't forget to book in your Phaser support time (if you need it, of course!) - depending on your tier you get a certain amount of time included for free, or at the very least a decent discount. So if you need my help, please do use the service, as it's there for you.
Phaser Site News
I'm also pleased to say that news is once again flowing onto the Phaser site. Thanks to the help of the community we're now working together to ensure a steady stream of content is published, on a regular basis. The calendar is already full of posts until the end of March and things are being properly organized via Trello. If you'd like to join in, then please email me! (rdavey at gmail.com) - with enough of us involved, all you would need to commit to is writing just two short news articles, or game reviews, per month.
That's all for this post. Hope to see you on Discord or the forum, soon :)
