Phaser 3.60 Beta 13 is Released

Published on 26th October 2022

This is just a short post to announce three important things.

First of all, Phaser 3.60 Beta 13 is now available. This release includes lots more updates since Beta 12 (including some important fixes for tweens). You can grab it from GitHub:

https://github.com/photonstorm/phaser/releases/tag/v3.60.0-beta.13

and npm:

https://www.npmjs.com/package/phaser/v/3.60.0-beta.13

Updated TypeScript Defs are also included.

I've also been working through updating the Phaser 3 Examples as I go. There are now lots more of them, and I'm tidying them all up as part of the process.

Help Required

I'm looking to hire someone to help me update all of the Phaser 3 Examples.

This work will involve taking the old-style examples and updating them to use ES6 coding standards. There are lots of examples already updated that demonstrate this, which you can use as a basis.

I also want to rename examples so the titles make more sense and ensure that they all actually display something and run. This will strengthen Phaser 3.60 as well, helping identify potential issues or API changes as we go through them all.

It's a lot of work. As a result, I'd like to hire someone to assist me with it. It doesn't have to be full-time, but you do have to have a good solid understanding of GitHub, Phaser 3, and JavaScript and the availability to put in at least a couple of days per week (14 hours). How those hours are spread out is up to you. If you can work more hours, that is fine, but I need someone who can commit to a minimum of 14 hours per week.

I must be able to pay you via PayPal.

If you feel you'd like to assist me in this, please send me a brief introduction about who you are, your location, relevant Phaser experience, and how much you'd expect to be compensated for this work hourly (in your local currency). You don't have to be an expert programmer, but you do need to be diligent, well-organized, and tidy with your code.

The Coming Weeks

At the end of the October Phaser Dev Log, I wrote about how updates are likely to become a little erratic due to the health of my Mum. Since writing that, just a mere couple of weeks ago, I'm very sad to report that she has passed away. The speed of it all was just mind-numbing, and you can read my thoughts here.

I've got a lot of things to help sort out now, and honestly, the emotions are still very raw, so again, forgive me if I'm not around on Discord or committing much to GitHub right now. As I said before, I find coding a great distraction for my brain, hence why I was able to finish Beta 13 today, but it isn't always easy to marshal the focus required. All I ask is for your understanding.
